Q. Why Sealcoat?
First and foremost to protect your investment. Asphalt over time can wear down due to natural and man-made chemical elements. Sealcoating helps protect and prolong the life of the asphalt. Newly sealcoated asphalt will undoubtedly add “curb appeal” to any property.
Q. Do repairs need to be made before sealcoating?
Absolutely, if repairs are needed they should be done prior to sealcoating so when the project is completed the coloring is uniform.
Q. How long should I wait to sealcoat new asphalt?
Industry experts recommend that newly paved areas should be allowed a minimum of one year to fully cure before sealcoating.
Q. How long does sealcoating last?
Properly sealcoated asphalt should last 3-5 years although many variable may affect that time frame.
Q. How do I know if my asphalt needs to be sealcoated or repaved?
If your asphalt is relatively new (less than 8 years old) you most likely will only need minimal repairs and sealcoating. If your asphalt is aged (more than 8 years old), very worn or hasn’t been properly maintained it is likely that you will need a complete repave. However, every situation is unique. Please allow one of our qualified experts to come out and asses your property and provide you with a free estmate.
Q. How thick should the asphalt be when repaved?
The most commonly used thickness is 1” with a repave. Depending on the circumstances a complete mill and repave might be necessary which could range from 1” to 2” in thickness.
Q. How long must I wait before allowing traffic on my newly repaved, repaired or sealcoated asphalt?
We recommend waiting 24 hours before allowing vehicle traffic on any repaved, repaired or sealcoated asphalt.
Q. My business is open 7 days a week with heavy customer traffic. How would I go about sealcoating, repaving or repairing my asphalt without inconveniencing my customers?
